Chapter 1: The Podcast Phenomenon
I’ll confess, I’m a podcast enthusiast. I enjoy diving into various podcasts as they provide an engaging way to learn. For me, listening to two history experts debate a subject is far more enriching than attending a traditional lecture. Surprisingly, I’ve gained more insights into Web3 from podcasts than from any other medium, including social audio platforms like Clubhouse.
While many turned to Clubhouse as a hub for crypto and Web3 discussions, my experience has shown that podcasts offer a much richer learning environment. With that in mind, I’d like to present my current top five Web3 podcasts. I emphasize "current" because my preferences do shift, but these five have consistently impressed me and will likely remain in my rotation for some time.
Counting down...
#5: Rehash
Diana Chen, the host of Rehash, has previously led Startup Happy Hour and The Unstoppable Domains. I’m particularly fond of her new project, Rehash, which functions as a community-driven podcast where DAO members can propose and vote on guests and topics. Each episode covers fascinating subjects, and Diana’s interviewing skills reflect her extensive podcasting experience.
#4: Web3 Academy
This podcast is a recent addition to my listening list, having started just a month ago. Hosted by Kyle Reidhead and Jay Hamilton, it addresses a variety of Web3 topics. The show aims to guide entrepreneurs, businesses, and creators in navigating the Web3 landscape, exploring how to leverage NFTs, crypto, and Web3 technologies to foster thriving communities and sustainable business models.
#3: Web3 with a16z
The original a16z podcast was my gateway into the world of Web3, and this new iteration is dedicated solely to the subject. Each episode dives deep into cutting-edge topics, making it an essential resource for those looking to deepen their understanding of crypto and Web3 developments.
#2: Mint
In my view, Adam Levy stands out as the best interviewer in the Web3 space. He consistently poses insightful questions that draw out valuable information from his guests. His podcast, Mint, investigates the Web3 creator economy, with each season focusing on a unique theme. Season 5, centered on music in Web3, was exceptional, but every episode maintains a high standard.
#1: Overpriced JPEGs
This podcast serves as a companion to Bankless but zeroes in on NFTs and consumer-oriented Web3 instead of DeFi. I rank it as my top pick because Carly presents current NFT events with an engaging, humorous style that makes the content enjoyable and accessible. After tuning into Overpriced JPEGs, I always feel well-informed about the NFT landscape.

The podcasts listed here are not only well-crafted but also maintain an engaging pace. Informative podcasts should challenge your thinking and broaden your perspective, and each of these does just that. If you enjoyed this article, please consider following for more content like this in the future.
