The future of technology is rapidly approaching, and the capabilities of AI are evolving at an astonishing rate. Even the early iteration of DALL-E can produce remarkable visuals!

Humans are inherently visual beings. While computers excel at processing vast amounts of data, they often struggle with understanding context. Consequently, when you prompt a computer to create an image of something that either doesn't exist or has never been observed, the outcome can often be bizarre.

Nevertheless, AI is improving, and honestly, it's a bit unsettling. Although I’m still waiting for access to DALL-E 2, I have been experimenting with DALL-E mini.

With simple prompts, the results have been impressive, yet some images are oddly distorted. I can envision a future where these technologies generate visuals for articles, books, and presentations. Will they eventually be able to create realistic product mock-ups? What about their implications for the media?

We already have talented photo editors like James Fridman, whose impressive work can be viewed here. But what will happen when AI is capable of producing hyper-realistic images? Media outlets, politicians, governments, and even malicious actors could manipulate public perception with ease. It's a frightening prospect. While it's true that such manipulation exists today, the enhancement AI offers could blur the lines of reality even further. What will we trust? What will be deemed real?

For now, we're not quite there yet, but we are close.
