As many of you might know, I didn’t always prioritize my mental, physical, or spiritual well-being. However, when I fortuitously met my husband and decided to nurture our relationship, we both agreed that settling for "good enough" was no longer acceptable. We craved something greater, yet we were uncertain about what that entailed.
Initially, we embarked on a journey across the United States, embraced sobriety, and began crafting our ideal life. This process required some creativity. What did our dream life entail?
We both entered the corporate world, only to find ourselves feeling unfulfilled, overworked, and undercompensated. What was the point of holding impressive job titles if they didn’t pay the bills and left us feeling perpetually exhausted? Then came the kids.
Having children was my lifelong dream. I had structured my entire future around this event, which was why I pursued a degree in education—so I could be present for my kids when they were home and enjoy summers off with them. However, my dislike for public speaking and the evolving landscape of education made that path less desirable.
Consequently, I had to seek alternative ways to balance motherhood with earning an income. The days when a single salary sufficed are long gone, at least in my experience.
I explored various avenues: direct sales, email marketing, social media strategies, creating and selling online courses, blogging, writing books—you name it. Yet, I found myself trapped in a mindset of scarcity.
The focus of my efforts was often overshadowed by the anxious energy of “I must succeed, or I will fail.” Even now, remnants of that mindset linger in my thoughts.
